How I practice
One lawyer who actually knows your business.I only take on a few companies at a time, and I’m genuinely selective about which ones. There’s a real intake process, because saying yes to you means I can give you actual, directed attention.
Being one of the few also means I get to know your company for real. I’m in the board meetings, in the contract work, and I’m who you call when a decision actually matters, not just when there’s a document to sign.
The work
The cap table doesn’t reconcile, or a financing never got properly ratified, or the consents and approvals are nowhere to be found. I reconstruct what actually happened, find the gaps, and get you back to a clean record you can rely on.
When fiduciary duties, conflicts, or a change in control are in play, how the decision gets made matters as much as the decision itself. I make sure everyone in the room knows what has to be disclosed, what belongs on the record, and how to decide it so it survives a second look.
Contracts are coming in from every direction, founders are negotiating on the fly, and nobody really owns the legal queue. I set up a simple way to take work in, review it, and sort out what actually carries risk, so legal stops being the bottleneck.
An incident pulls in boards, regulators, insurers, and outside specialists all at once, each on their own timeline. I keep the legal side organized and moving, and I keep a clean record of it, while the business handles everything else.

It’s just me, and I keep it that way on purpose.
I serve startups, closely held and family businesses, physician practices, and nonprofits nationwide. My work spans federal and corporate law, governance, contracts, financing, and the day-to-day decisions that come with running an organization.
I am licensed in the State of Hawaii, Bar No. 011219. When a matter requires locally admitted or litigation counsel, I coordinate with the appropriate specialist co-counsel.
